Easter Bonnet 2018

Easter Bonnets Parades in schools as with other 'home projects' can either be a chance for some Mummies to shine as domestic goddess or post a lot of stress to messy Mummies like me, who just want to have things done quickly without looking too pathetic.

I had horribly experiences from not knowing an Easter Bonnet was needed until receiving a '"homework note" from school given only 3 days notice to prepare, by which time all decorations from major supermarkets were sold out, to making a very basic "innocent mother and daughter bonding fun" which ended up with an almost teary, pathetic expression from my daughter in school, after seeing the brilliant works of others.

The next year, we went all out using three tubes of white glue to put a couple bags of plastic eggs on a straw hat.  It took almost a week to dry and was too heavy for a year 2 child to wear without using both hands to stable it while she walked...

There had also been a time when we made a bonnet a month ahead with paper plates, ribbons and white lace paper only to discover, to our disappointment that, that particular school didn't host any Easter Bonnet Parades.

This year, we have decided there is no point wasting our time on something that is shown in school for 15 minutes.  We used glue gun instead to ensure quick drying and ended up using less than 30 minutes to assemble the hat.

Material:-
- glue gun (with refill if needed)
- needle and white thread
- 1 straw hat
- 1 tiny stuffed bunny
- 1 pack of Easter themed foam stickers
- 1 box of 6 big yellow chicks
- 4 boxes of 12 tiny rainbow chicks

Steps:-
1. Attach stuffed bunny on top of hat with needle and thread
2. Stick on foam stickers on hat
3. Use glue gun to stick bunch of chicks around bunny
4. Use glue gun to stick rest of chicks around brim of bonnet

The result: can easily deceive people that lots of work was put into it.
